Boys’ Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade was founded in Glasgow in 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith and is rightly proud of its Scottish Heritage.

The Boys’ Brigade is a Christian organisation which cares for and challenges young people for life through a programme of informal education in a fun way.  Each week around 20,000 young people, aged 5 to 18, take part in one of the 450 groups.

Further information is available at the Boys’ Brigade (Scotland) website at

The Old & Abbey (3rd/5th Arbroath) Company of the Boys’ Brigade meets on Friday evenings under the leadership of Captain Elizabeth Cunningham, Aidan Dunbar and Bruce Taylor.  The Anchor Section starts at 6.15pm with Juniors and Seniors later.

      Hi Jill,
If he is in P1 then he could join the Anchor Boys. They meet on a Friday evening – I think about 6.15pm. The leader-in-charge is Elizabeth Cunningham ( and she could give you more information.
      Hope this helps
