Easter 2014 at the Old & Abbey

An 8.30am sunrise service, run jointly by ourselves, St Andrew’s, Knox’s & St Vigeans and the Town Mission, was held in the grounds of Arbroath Abbey on Easter morning.  Our minister, Alastair Morrice gave the address.

Following the service a large number of worshippers adjourned to the Old & Abbey for a much needed breakfast of bacon & sausage rolls with croissants, pain au chocolat, coffee, tea and juice.

We set sail with Jesus and the disciples at our 11am Family Service.  The children thoroughly enjoyed Alastair’s boat and then we all feasted on the freshly baked bread and hot smoked fish prepared by Olwen McNeill and her team.

A congregational lunch followed the service providing an opportunity for us all to thank Alastair and Mary Morrice for all they had done for us during the last year.  Ian Townsend presented Mary with flowers and Alastair with golf and camping vouchers.  Eileen McDonald handed over gifts on behalf of the Guild.  The presentation was filmed by Blair Durno and can be viewed at
